6th Media Arts: Crazy School lunch

You will be using Adobe Photoshop to create a "Super Crazy School Lunch"


For your CRAZY lunch, you will add pictures of food (or other things) to turn it into a "Super Crazy School Lunch." Choose a theme for your lunch tray (for example: gross lunch, bear lunch, treasure lunch, zombie lunch, dream lunch, alien lunch, shark lunch, etc.).

  1. What is the THEME of you lunch tray?
  2. What 5 (or more) items will you put on your Crazy lunch tray? 



Extra Credit: Design a Healthy Lunch. Include a food from each category: Dairy, Grains or starches, Meat or beans, Vegetables, Fruits.

1. Find the Materials folder in the Fowler Classroom folder with the "public domain" videos.
2. Or, if you have extra time, download a video from the Moving Image Archive
 * Download as a MP4 file or a Mpeg. Follow Ms. Fowler's directions to either loop it or edit it to make it between 1:30 and 2:00 minutes.

Painting and Drawing: Folk Art and Zentangles

1. Research. First research "Folk Art" Use the links below
  1. What is folk art?
  2. Go to the American Folk Art Museum, or the International Folk Art Museum website.  or the Craft and Folk Art Museum. Choose an artist. Answer the questions on the worksheet.

  4. Research folk art from your own culture. Choose one example and sketch it on your worksheet.

2. Pick and practice drawing an animal

3. Create a landscape background.
  • Collage with simple shapes. Hills, trees, streams, etc.
  • Draw in zentangle patterns.
4. Add your animal
  • Start with simple shapes. Draw in pencil. Fill your page.
  • Go over with Sharpie. Erase pencil lines.
  • Fill with zentange patterns.
  • Cut out and place on your background.

8th Media Arts: Artist-inspired Self Portrait
